‘Good Omens Season 3’ ending explained

In the final moments, the charming reunion had the duo, who were living in their cottage and watching a shooting star, married for 20 years. “I don’t need anything more than this,” Anthony (Crowley) said, before ending the story with, “I have the universe out there, and I have you. I have everything I’ve ever wanted.” When asked Rachel Talalay, the director of the series, about the sacrifice and rebirth, she said, “What I love about it is that any place in it, love conquers all, and any place in any universe, it’s not about the humanity as much as the feeling that they would, if it’s ineffable, find that kind of love, they would find each other no matter what,” during a conversation with TV Insider.Channelling a romantic-comedy, the human-form love between Aziraphale and Crowley went through the norms, including meet-cute, first date, and the happily ever after. Recalling the enthusiasm of the actors, Talalay claimed that Tennant and Sheen were ready to the tee with the genre change for the final moments. “I’d love to say that that’s good directing, but that’s just wonderful acting, and I can watch it over and over again,” she explained about how brilliantly the scenes were captured. While the fans witnessed different forms of Aziraphale and Crowley, Talalay expressed that this perhaps could not be the entire end of their story. In fact, the 67-year-old director would love to see different versions to continue the love story. “I would absolutely love to see that. And it’s science fiction and religion, and anything can happen, but no, there’s no discussion at this moment about anything but how do we make people really love the enduring love of this?” she said, highlighting that they might not meet every time.
