Lady superstar Nayanthara’s upcoming films:;‘Toxic’ to ‘Rakkayie’ and ‘Patriot’ |
Famed actress Nayanthara is one of the biggest leading ladies in South Indian cinema. From ‘Kolamavu Kokila’ to ‘Chandramukhi’, over the course of her career, she has managed to churn out a lot of blockbusters and fan favourites. Known for her versatile acting skills and onscreen presence with her fellow star, Nayanthara is a force to be reckoned with. 2026 and 2027 seem to be jam-packed for her as she is prepping for some big upcoming roles. Here’s what we know about her upcoming projects.
Nayanthara’s upcoming projects
Perhaps one of her most anticipated roles in her upcoming projects is in ‘TOXIC’ opposite Yash, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, Kiara Advani, Kyle Paul, and many others. Other than that, she is also filming for multiple roles in different languages. ‘TOXIC’ is slated for official release on June 4 this year. One of her roles includes ‘Patriot’, an upcoming Malayalam film that is currently still in production. She will be starring opposite Mammootty, Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Darshana Rajendran, and many others. Another Malayalam film that Nayanthara is reportedly working on is titled ‘Dear Students’, however, not much is known about this upcoming film. Both of these films are slated to be released this year.As for 2027, the actress is also a part of an upcoming project titled ‘NBK 111.’ The film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna and is being directed by Gopichand Malineni. It is currently still in production.
Nayanthara’s upcoming Tamil films
Other than all of this, the star is still keeping busy and is confirmed to appear in 4 upcoming Tamil language films. One of them is ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’, a fantasy film starring Urvashi, Sneha, and Duniya Vijay, among many others. It is a direct sequel to the 2020 film, and Nayanthara is all set to reprise her role as the leading lady. The next film is ‘Mannangatti Since 1960’, which has already completed filming. Directed by Dude Vicky, the film will also star Yogi Babu, Gouri G. Kishan, and Devadarshini Chetan, and many others in the leading role. She will also appear in ‘Hi’, where she will be playing the leading lady alongside fellow actor Kavin. While it was slated for release in April 2026, no official dates have been shared with the public. Another film, which has been in development since 2024, is possibly slated for release this year. ‘Rakkayie’ stars Nayanthara in the lead yet again and tells the tale of a mother doing anything and everything to protect her daughter against evil.
