As the release of the much-anticipated comedy-horror film ‘Bhooth Bangla’ draws closer, actor Rajpal Yadav has opened up about a deeply emotional period in his life. In a candid interview, Yadav recalled losing his father during the film’s shoot and then receiving the heartbreaking news of veteran comedian Asrani‘s passing shortly after the film wrapped up. While he couldn’t attend Asrani’s funeral due to personal responsibilities at home, Yadav paid a moving tribute to his longtime co-star, calling him “immortal” and one of the most important legends of Indian cinema in the last 100 years. Rajpal Yadav on facing a tough personal phase

In recent times, Rajpal has faced a challenging phase. During the shoot of ‘Bhooth Bangla’, he lost his father, and soon after wrapping up the film, his dear friend Asrani passed away. Recalling the emotional period, Rajpal shared that he had dined with Asrani at another location, where they enjoyed laughter and good moments. However, he couldn’t attend the veteran actor’s last rites because he had to fulfill his duty as a son.

Yadav said, ““Ek taraf film ki shooting chal rahi thi aur dusri taraf pitaji humare ICU mein pahunch gaye. Pitaji ki death is film ki shooting ke dauran hi hui thi, aur film khatam hui toh ye news mili. Asrani sir ke saath khana bhi khaya, par unki antim yatra mein nahi pahunch paya kyunki main ghar tha.” [On one hand, the film shooting was underway, and on the other, my father was admitted to the ICU. My father passed away while we were still shooting this film; by the time the shoot wrapped up, I received the news. I even had a meal with Asrani sir, but I couldn’t make it to his (my father’s) final rites because I was at home.]

Rajpal Yadav opens up about emotional struggles

Talking to News18, Yadav said that on one side, the film’s shooting was going on, and on the other, his father had been admitted to the ICU. His father passed away during the shooting of the film, and he got the news about Asrani soon after the film was completed. He mentioned that he even had a meal with Asrani but couldn’t attend his last rites because he was at home.

Yadav further said, “I’ve watched him since childhood and later worked with him in many films. Truly, wherever Asrani sir was, the entire unit can vouch that he would light up the atmosphere.
